Amusement Park Scrapbook Project

Level - Easy to Medium

I used Busch Gardens for this project, but you can use it for any amusement park.

Original photo of scrapbook by Scrapbook Help WebThis double page layout is simple by no matting or framing, but some extra tools will be needed. I like to show a full map or layout for any of the parks we love to visit. I try to get a full coverage map from park brochures or from the internet. I chose yellow and red colors for these pages because they seemed to lend the best look for the items I intended to put on these pages. After the main entrance to Busch Gardens, the park is divided into different countries, so I wanted only the initial look to show here.

Materials:
3 photos from entering the park
Admittance ticket stub
Park brochure
Parking ticket stub
Park map from website
2 colored sheets of paper
Roller coaster border sticker
Photo adhesive
Oval shape cutter
Corner rounder
12-inch trimmer
Scissors
Colored pens or pencils

Original photo from Scrapbook Help WebStep 1: Use the yellow and red colors to make accents for left hand page. I made a small rectangle for lower left corner and triangles for the other 3 corners. I then cut thin strips off the red 12x12 paper to give visual interest to the background of this page and also to tie in the background of the right hand page. Using adhesive, mount the background pieces onto the left scrapbook page.

Step 2: Using the bulk of the red sheet of paper, completely cover the right hand page. I also made a small yellow triangle to put in the bottom left corner of this page to tie back into the accents on the left page. Use the adhesive to mount all the background pieces in place on the right hand scrapbook page.

Step 4: Use the corner rounder on the park map and mount it in the upper left corner of the right page using the adhesive. I like using the full park map on the page to show what all was offered to us to do at each park. Sometimes this step will also give me ideas for further pages, or remind me of moments I want to journal.

Step 5: Trim the remaining 2 photos into oval shapes and using the adhesive, mount across right hand scrapbook page under the park map. Make sure you leave enough room at the bottom of the page for the roller coaster border.

Original photo from Scrapbook Help WebStep 6: Using adhesive take the park admission ticket (and in this case the locker ticket also) and mount at an angle under the group shot on the left hand scrapbook page.

Step 7: Take the folded park brochure and use the adhesive only on the back page. Mount this brochure to the right side of the left hand scrapbook page. Using the adhesive only on the back of the brochure gives you the ability to later open the brochure and look at it or show someone else, while still leaving it in place.

Step 8: Using the adhesive mount the parking ticket stub at an angle in the top right corner and the roller coaster border sticker along the bottom of the right scrapbook page.

Step 9: Using colored pens or pencils, journal notes on entering the park in any of the blank areas left on the pages.
