Animal Kingdom Parade Pages

Level — Easy

On our trip to Disney World, we watched the parades at each park and ended up with at least one picture of each and every float/person in each parade. Trying to use them all would be almost impossible, but I found a way to use quite a few. This layout worked great for the Animal Kingdom Parade, although I still used three pages and printed the photos at a reduced scale size so that I could use as many as I did.

Animal Kingdom Parade PagesMaterials:
2 light purple 12 x 12 sheets of paper
2 dark purple 12 x 12 sheets of paper
1 bright pink 12 x 12 sheet of paper
32-35 photos (printed smaller than original)
Small sheet of vellum paper
Computer and color printer OR purple journaling pen
Photo adhesive and vellum (or clear) adhesive
Scissors/paper trimmer

Step 1:
Take the sheets of light and dark purple papers and cut into 4" strips. Taking 2 strips of one of the colors and 1 strip of the other color, alternate the colors as you mount with photo adhesive to the background of your pages. This will make one page have top and bottom light purple and middle dark purple background and the next page will be top and bottom dark purple and middle light purple, etc.

Take the reduced size photos, trim excess with scissors or paper trimmer, and lay them out using about 11-12 photos per page. Pick 3-4 photos with either more detail or more significance to be the focus of each page and lay them aside.

Step 3:
Take the focus pictures for all 3 pages and mat using the bright pink paper. You want to leave a ¼" margin of pink around each one. Mount these matted photos across the middle strip of each page using the photo adhesive.

Step 4:
Take the remaining photos on each page and using the photo adhesive, place across both top and bottom background strips for all three pages.

For journaling, the only thing I did was to put the title of the parade. I used a color printer with a Disney Font I found online to print in a dark purple color on vellum paper. The vellum allows the other colors to show through without changing the color of the print. You can achieve this same effect by hand journaling with a purple marker/pen onto vellum.

Step 6:
Cut the printed vellum into two strips roughly the same size, leaving a small edge around the printed words. Mount these strips to the first page of your parade with one strip above one of the focal pictures and one strip below the same picture. Use vellum (or clear) adhesive so that it does not show through the vellum.
