Bright as Flowers Title Page
Level: Medium
Brian does a lot of work keeping our yard looking good. I always try to take pictures that show the results of all his hard work. This page was done to show all the first blooms that come up in the spring. This is a page that can take some time, and a little work, but looks first-class when done.
Materials:
6 2 x 3 pictures of flowers
2 photos zoomed in on single flowers
1 sheet of solid blue paper
1 sheet blue patterned paper
Pop dots - raised sticky foam dots
Photo adhesive
Scissors/paper trimmer
Corner rounder
Xyron sticker machine and Cricut die cut machine (or use different font letters/word stickers in the same basic color)
Oval shape trimmer
Step 1:
Mount the 12 x 12 yellow paper across the page using photo adhesive. This will serve as the full background paper.
Step 2:
Choose one of the 6 photos and trim to oval shape, trim the remaining 5 photos into rectangle shapes. Use the corner rounder on all of the rectangle photos. Choose 2 rectangle photos and using the blue patterned paper, make a single mat frame and then using the photo adhesive, place photos around the page. For the first matted photo, place in the top right corner. Place the second matted photo at the bottom left corner of the page. Place two of the other rectangles across the middle of the page, with the oval shaped photo at the top left corner slightly overlapping the corner of the right side photo. Place the last photo at the bottom right corner of the page.
Step 3:
Take the two single flower photos and using the scissors, trim around each flower so that you have only the flower itself left. Some of the cuts may be very tiny to get it right, so take your time. Using the pop dots, place one flower in lower top left of the page, and the other flower in the bottom middle of the page. You want to place them near and possibly with petals overlapping other photos, but not directly ON any of the others.
Step 4:
Use the Cricut die cut machine and different fonts to cut out the words and/or letters BRIGHT AS FLOWERS BE THY HOURS. from the solid blue paper. Use the same blue patterned paper you used for the photo matting to cut the letters for LIFE'S. Run all the words and/or letters through the Xyron sticker machine and place on the page. Place BRIGHT at the top left of the page, AS to the right of the top popped-out flower, and FLOWERS underneath the top right photo. Move down and to the left for the words BE and THY, and the word LIFE'S, placing across the page in the open yellow space. Place the word HOURS. at the bottom center of the page and you're done. I also added the year in blue pencil.
