Project Timeline Layout
Level: Easy
Brian and I are always doing small projects around the house that he bought in 2000. I finally thought to start taking before and after pictures, and then I thought about taking pictures while we were doing the work. I wanted to show the stages as we did whatever project we were working on. This is a simple no-frills page. Anyone with scissors, papers and photos can complete a page like this.
Materials:
6-8 photos of stages of a project
2 different colored sheets of paper
Stickers alphabet and/or those that match whatever your is subject matter
Scissors and/or trimmer
Photo adhesive
Step 1:
Lay out the photos in a time-line order so you can see how you want them arranged on the size page you are working with. This step of visualizing your page helps determine how many of the photos you will use and also what size and shape you will trim them.
Step 2:
Take one of the solid colors of paper and mount each picture with adhesive to this color. Trim the paper around each picture to leave a thin frame around the photo.
Step 3:
Take each of the already framed pictures and using adhesive, place on the second color of paper and trim to a thin frame around the first color. This gives you a double mat around each picture.
Step 4:
Place the matted photos on the page as you want them to appear. Use the adhesive to mount each photo in place.
Step 5:
Using alphabet stickers and/or colored pens or pencils, word a title for your page. I used both stickers and colored pencils to write my title stickers for the capital letters, and then hand writing the remainder of the words.
Step 6:
Using colored pens or pencils, journal (under, over, around or on the side of) each picture with descriptions of the different steps you took to reach your finished project.
Step 7:
Embellish your finished page with stickers or drawings to complement the subject. I used stickers of handprints in different colors to show that this was definitely a "hands-on" project.
