Walking in DC

Level: Easy

After we visited the Printing and Engraving, we decided we wanted to just walk down the street and see what we could see with no specific destination in mind. I only took a few pictures, but decided I did want to include them — especially of the Washington Monument. I did an open 2-page layout with this on one side with the National Aquarium on the other side.

Walking in DC - original photoMaterials:
4 photos (3 horizontal views and 1 vertical view)
1 4 1/4 x 3 inch navy blue paper
1 12 x 12 inch sheet red paper
1 3 3/4 x 2 1/2 inch white paper
Blue square tile stickers
Photo adhesive
Scissors/paper trimmer
Red journaling pen

Step 1:
Cut a 1-inch strip off one side of the 12 x 12 red paper. Use the photo adhesive to mount down the left edge of the page from top to bottom.

Trim each of the photos, if needed, to about 3 1/2 x 5 inches. Mount the vertical photo in the top left corner, about 1/2 inch in from the red strip, using the photo adhesive.

Step 3:
Using the red paper, mat each of the 3 horizontal view photos. Leave approximately 1/8-inch trim of the red showing around each side. Use the photo adhesive to mount in order down the right side of the page. You want to leave a little over 1/4 inch clear space at the top of the page and then the same amount of space between each of the matted photos.

Center the blue piece of paper in the open area of the lower left corner of the page. Then take the white piece of paper and mount in the center of the blue using photo adhesive. Use the red journaling pen to write down a couple of sentences to tell about the experience.

Step 5:
Pick random size blue tile stickers and place them randomly down the red strip on the left side of the page to add embellishment. Remember you don't have to mount all of them completely on the red paper; you can have one or more overlapping onto the open space on the page.
